Calcium filters for water taps - avoid limescale!

Are you also tired of calcium in your water, limescale on your tap, in your kettle and yes, wherever the limescale chooses to settle? Calcium in water is a big problem in Denmark due to the high calcium content in the soil.
When the water is pumped up from the ground to the groundwater, the water is not purified of calcium, which is why the water we drink may contain far more than the recommended level of dH (deutsche Härte), which is between 4-8 dH. (read more at bottom)

  1. Bacterial reduction Water filter set Crystal H-B
    • Connection: 6mm JG (hose)
    • Capacity: 6000 litres
    • Reduction Claims: Taste & Odour, Chlorine, Heavy Metals, Organics, Sediment, Scale, Rust, Iron

Get clean drinking water directly from the tap without pesticides, lime and other impurities. Crystal H-B is a compact and practical small softening water filter set that fits perfectly under the sink.

Crystal H-B consists of four water filters:
K3 - 5µm activated carbon pre-filter that filters sediments and dirt.
KH - Softening filter with ion exchange that can be regenerated (see more in manual).
K7B - 0.1 microm microfilter removes 99.9% of bacteria and organic substances, heavy metals and particles down to 0.1 µm.
K7 - 0.8µm very fine filtering activated carbon filter that filters i.a. ocher, heavy metals and pollutants.

    Dimensions;
    Length: 34 cm
    Height: 38 cm
    Depth: 9 cm

The filters are easy to replace and should be changed every 6 months or after 6000 liters to avoid bacteria forming in the filter. The KH filter should be regenerated once a month to maintain the emollient efficiency. Instructions can be found in the manual under the datasheet at the bottom. An extra faucet is included that can be connected directly. You can also connect directly to your own faucet.

    • Max. Temperature: 38 °C

    Replacement filter for drinking water.

The filter fits Crystal H / Crystal H-B.

K7 0.8µm very fine filtration activated carbon filter that filtrates ocher, heavy metals, pollutants and more.

The filter can also be used separately with a single water filter head.

The filter is easy to replace and should be changed every 6 months or after 6000 liters to avoid the formation of bacteria in the filter.

This Cartridge does not remove lime.

This replacement filter uses an ultra- dense CarbFiber Block made from powdered activated coconut shell carbon. It removes the residual concentrations of organic contaminants and heavy metals. It filters particles down to 0.8 micron in size.

Modified Aqualen fibers distribute the water flow in the ultra-dense filter medium which provides optimal purification.

The replacement filter contains silver in its active ionic form.

Why a calcium filter?

A calcium filter is useful if you either do not have access to the water pipe that goes into your home, or if you do not have space for a water softener system. The calcium filter must quite simply be placed under the sink, where the filter is connected to the water pipe that goes up to the tap. In other words, getting soft water is incredibly easy and straightforward. Once the filter is used up, it can easily be replaced with new filters that can be purchased individually and inserted into the holder.

Of course, you should be aware that the filter only solves the problem where it is connected. The advantage of a water softener system is that it is installed onto the water pipe that goes into your home, which is why it has an effect on all the water supplied to your home and thus reduces the limescale in both the shower and the taps.

When you use water with a reduced calcium content, you will experience several different improvements. First of all, you will find that the water does not cause settling of limescale on the tap - we all know the problem when water at some point cascades all over the kitchen due to calcification. You will also find that when you make coffee, you do not have to use as many scoops of coffee, as the water now has a neutral taste. Calcium affects water by giving it a rough taste, which is dominant. To suppress it you add - without even knowing it - more scoops of coffee so that the flavour of the coffee "wins".

How does a calcium filter work?

Our Crystal H calcium filter consists of 3 filters: K3, KH and K7.

K3 is a prefilter that captures larger particles (5 µm). The filter is an activated carbon filter, which means that it removes smell and bad taste from the water.

KH is the water softening filter that reduces the hardness of the water down to between 4-8 dH. The method works by means of ion-exchange.

K7 is a very fine activated carbon filter that captures small particles (0.8 µm) such as ochre and heavy metals.

As a general rule, the filters should be changed every 6 months (or after 6000 litres of water) to avoid the formation of bacteria. With this setup, you do not only soften the water, you also get cleaner water that is better for your body. You will also find that your kettle, cups and other objects in which tap water is used will have a longer life.

Installation of a calcium filter

As mentioned earlier, it is easy to install the calcium filter. You can do it yourself, but if you want help, the local plumber can also handle the task. The holder, in which the filters are installed, is placed under the sink. One pipe is led to the water pipe which supplies water to the tap and another pipe is led up to the tap so that the water is passed through the filter system. A tap is included if the one you already have cannot be used. A manual is also included.

Let us list what you get out of buying a calcium filter for your home:

First of all, you get the opportunity to soften the water by means of a compact filter system that can be installed in any home (including apartments). It is easy to maintain, as you only need to change the filters when they are used up (approximately after 6 months). Not only is the amount of limescale reduced, also various viruses and pesticides are removed from the water by means of activated carbon.  If you want a system that can soften all the water that is supplied to your home, e.g. not just the water that comes out of one particular tap, then you need to take a closer look at a water softener system:
