Salt for water softeners

When you need to use salt for your water softener, there are roughly 2 types; There are salt tablets and crystal salt. At Filter-Online, we have tested both variants with our Smartflow water softener and there was no doubt that it was crystal salt that we rated as the best salt.

SOFT-SEL® CRYSTALS are food-grade salt that is particularly suitable for water softeners. The structure of the crystal salt is solid, which ensures an easy dissolution, without ending up with a mushy or lumpy mass of salt at the bottom of the salt container in the water softener.

Crystal salt from SOFT-SEL® CRYSTALS is a 100% natural product, which is therefore not chemically cleaned and compressed as you see with salt tablets. Crystal salt, on the other hand, contains no additives and is only produced using fresh water. This process makes salt crystals from SOFT-SEL® CRYSTALS a more ecological and sustainable product.

SOFT-SEL® CRYSTALS are suitable for all types of water softeners – regardless of whether it is a system installed in a private home or industrially. So if you want to soften your drinking water or water intended for the food industry, this type of salt will give you the best quality guarantee.

Filter-Online sells annual set of salt – Incl. Resin cleaner

To make it easier and more economically attractive for the customer, Filter-Online has put together several different types of annual sets with crystal salt and resin cleaner. The year set is calculated based on an approx. number of consumers in the household with so-called ordinary consumption. Consumption can fluctuate from household to household, as some use more water than others and thus the water softener runs for a longer time and thus also uses more salt. The calculation is therefore based on an average consumption.

The included resin cleaner is a product that – as it sounds – cleans the resin in the softener. The can contains 5 liters and the procedure is as follows:

• Pour 2.5 liters into the large salt container in the water softener
• After this, a regeneration must be started, as the resin cleaner must be passed through the resin.
• In connection with regeneration, the resin cleaner will be drawn through the resin and remove and dissolve lime deposits.
• Repeat the process after 14 days and then the plant must be able to run for approx. 12 months before a new cleaning should be carried out.
